In this phase, you will make meaning from what you learned in the Explore phase. You’ll move from the “What?” to “So what?” to “Now what?” through the journey of your data becoming insights to generate design principles.

Reflecting on your research enables you to have ‘AHA!’ moments and epiphanies to discover the unmet needs of people at the center of our challenge. Having this perspective on how different people experience your design challenge will give you a clear direction for designing new solutions or experiences for them.

This phase requires a good deal of team collaboration — about 4-5 hours — that can be over the course of one day or multiple days. We recommend collaborating using a larger area to sort through the data you collected — such as a large table, whiteboard, or wall.

A point of view about the unmet needs of your users, and a clear direction on what you will need to fulfill them
